“Twenty years ago I built a website for photographers who wanted to do more with their images. What I did not expect was to build a community that would still be here, still learning, still creating, still evolving, two decades later.”
PhotographyBB started as a simple idea: that the techniques used by professional photo editors did not need to stay locked behind closed studio doors. I believed then, and I believe now, that access to craft knowledge changes what people are capable of creating. The community that formed around that idea proved me right.
What we have built over 20 years is not just a product library. It is a trusted relationship with tens of thousands of photographers and digital artists who return because they know the content here is created with genuine care for their growth. That trust is the most valuable asset we have, and it is the foundation everything else is built on.

PhotographyBB is a digital creative platform for photographers and Photoshop artists, operating as a BC sole proprietorship since 2004. We create and sell Photoshop effects, actions, templates, and eBooks through a WooCommerce store, serving a community of buyers who return for the quality and clarity of the content.
Our audience includes passionate photographers, retouchers, digital artists, and creative professionals who value thoughtful instruction and high-quality creative tools. They are serious practitioners, portrait photographers, retouchers, digital artists, and creative professionals who want to understand what they are doing and do it better. This relationship is built on two decades of consistently showing up and delivering work that earns their confidence.
The Core Advantage
An email list of real buyers is the most defensible asset in digital business. PhotographyBB’s customer list was built one genuine purchase at a time over 20 years. It cannot be replicated by a newcomer with capital. It is not an algorithmic audience that disappears when a platform changes its rules. Every dollar is allocated to activities that directly expand reach, deepen audience relationship, or build infrastructure that compounds in value over time. There is no overhead padding and no speculative spending.
Content Production & Product Development
New premium eBooks, advanced action packs, and creative resource production. Expanding the core product library with work that commands $25 to $100 price points and generates revenue for years.
Community Growth & Outreach
Strategic outreach and audience development focused on expanding access to independent creative resources and bringing new artists into the PhotographyBB community. Every new subscriber is a long-term revenue relationship.
Automation & Infrastructure
Make.com pipeline buildout, AI-assisted content production systems, and YouTube and Facebook channel automation. Building infrastructure that allows PhotographyBB to continue producing high-quality creative resources sustainably and independently.
Platform & Technical Improvements
WooCommerce optimization, membership system hardening, hosting upgrade, and site performance improvements. The foundation everything else runs on.
Operating Reserve
A six-month runway buffer that allows strategic decisions to be made from stability rather than urgency. Not idle capital. The margin that makes everything else work better.

05 • Our Approach to AI
PhotographyBB has been in the business of serving creative practitioners for 20 years. Our position on AI is shaped by that history. We are not skeptics, and we are not maximalists. We are practitioners who use every tool available to produce better work, and we help our community do the same.
The AI tools we use operationally, including Claude for content review and writing, ChatGPT for script drafting, and GPT-Image for visual content generation, are deployed in service of human creative judgment. They accelerate production. They do not replace the decisions that define quality.

AI-assisted production is meaningless without craft understanding. Our content covers the underlying technique. Tools are always secondary to the knowledge.
