Photography contests are a great learning experience and can be a lot of fun to participate in. I would like to reccommend all Canadian photographers to participate in the FutureShop photography contest. The theme is to capture the spirit of your home town, which leaves this one wide open to creative inspiration. They have grand prize package of a Canon 50D with kit lens and accessories, and 10 secondary prizes of the new Canon SD780 which is a pretty sweet little device on its own.
