Skin: A Guide to Better “People” Photography

18 July 2008 No Comment

If you are looking for a good book on how to improve your people photography and portraitures, then look no further than Skin: The Complete Guide to Digitally Lighting, Photographing, and Retouching Faces and Bodies.

I had a chance to browse through this book at my local bookstore, and I immediately came home to order it through Amazon (at a fraction of the cover price of course!). I consider this book to be the bible for portrait photography AND retouching people in Photoshop. This book covers everything from lighting setup (both basic, intermediate, and professional), to portraiture photographic techniques, to processing specially for “skin.” Here’s a book that can truly help both the amateur AND the professional in both areas of photography and post-processing.

The things I most enjoyed when looking at this book, were the plentiful step by step pictorial examples, as well as the plain and easy-to-understand writing style. I could go on and on, but what I recommend is to click on the link for this book, then click on the cover image which says “Search Inside” so you can have a peek at the table of contents which will give you a good idea of the topics covered in the book.

This is one of those books which I highly recommend to anyone, whether you are looking to break into wedding photography, fashion, or simply shooting family pictures. You’ll not only learn how to make your photos look more professional, but you’ll also learn some basic (and advanced) post processing techniques which will really blow people away!

As with the other books we recommend, you are able to save off the cover price of $39.99 and get this one for only $26.39
