Simple. Use a tripod or monopod (at a pinch) more than ever. My shots are better when taken from a tripod. Simple as that.

I suspect that it is as much to the process of using a tripod slowing me down, giving me the chance to compose.

Tripod, tripod, monopod… ra ra ra.

I have three. Publish four more photographic articles, look at (really look at) 1000 photographs done by others, and photowalk four to six hours a week.

My resolution for this year is to grow creatively. I want to do the normal things like make more time to shoot and to get better technically, but my main goal is to focus on being a more creative photographer.

My resolution this year is to refine our client experience and make sure we are giving our clients the best service. No focus on gear, shooting style, or much photographic like our goals in the past, but focused on client service.

This year I’m embracing the basics, and more film.

1. I’m trying a 365-type project with a twist; taking the same picture outside, at the same time each day. I hope to show the amount of light as the days get longer then shorter again, and also the variety in weather for our area. It won’t be 365 photos, but I hope to have 300 when I’m ready to edit it all together as a slideshow with music. I’ll make it fast enough to be a 2-3 minute presentation.

2. We have the photo equipment and slides from my in-laws; they were active amateur photographers in the 1960s and early 1970s. I intend to shoot photos with the camera they used – a Yashica 44LM – which uses 127 film. The film sources are there, and a local lab can develop.

I’m trying #project365… the discipline to try to take & publish a new photo each day is tough but trust it will pay dividends by the end of the year.

Greetings! My big push for this new year will be to master the business side of photography and get aggressive with local zip marketing and for sure some displays around town. I also will be working more with artificial lighting (umbrellas, reflectors, SB-800s & continuous) in my portraiture. Pushing my creativity in photography and understanding Photoshop even more will be two important aspects of my new year endeavors.

Not sure if I could ever make any money at photography, so I guess I’ll remain an enthusiastic amateur. This year I resolve to maintain a photo a day site on bPase. To concentrate on getting focussing ‘just right’ and to become seriously proficient with my equipment.

I’d like to grow my business, of course, but I really want to use 2010 to master and nurture flash technique. Also, I want to make a photograph for myself every day!
