 Assignment #34: Apr 1st - Apr 14th, 2010
Fantastic job on the previous assignment to all our participants. Remember, the photo assignments aren't just for "fun," they are a great way to learn new techniques, challenge yourself, and to help you grow as a versitle photographer.
Your assignment is: Springtime For our friends in the Southern Hemisphere we would like to see your "Autumn" photos! (taken during the same time period of this assignment)
Take a NEW photo which says "Springtime/Autumn-time" to you. There are many ways to capture the spirit of the current season, both indoors and out, so have some fun with this one.
IMPORTANT: As with all challenges, you may submit up to 3 photos, and photos MUST be taken during the assignment time window (Apr 1st to Apr 14th, 2010). Top choices will be selected and published in an upcoming issue of the PhotographyBB Online Magazine. Be creative, have fun, and happy photographing!

 Re: Assignment #34: Apr 1st - Apr 14th, 2010
I guess that cuts us in the Southern Hemisphere out, where it is currently Autumn, and moving towards winter. Would it not have been better to make the challenge a little more equitable by suggesting a topic of Springtime/Autumnal moments or soemthing like that? After all the photo's must be taken during the period of the assignment. Or are you only interested in the efforts of those in the north?

 Re: Assignment #34: Apr 1st - Apr 14th, 2010
Hi Anna, in previous years Dave has allowed the folks in the Southern Hemisphere to submit autumn shots. I'll shoot him a message about this. We're not trying to restrict half our members. Thanks for your concern.

Hi Anna... thanks you for posting your concern here. I will ammend the contest details to include "Autumn" for the southern hemisphere. The actual purpose of this assignment is to capture a photo depicting (in your own creative way) the season we are ALL currently experincing, and doing it during the assignment window. I look forward to your entries also.

 Re: Assignment #34: Apr 1st - Apr 14th, 2010
Hi Greg. I was just looking at the bureau of meteorology and it says the mean minimum temperature is 2.4 deg c, it does drop below 0 quite often and we do get a bit of snow, mainly on the higher peaks. The mean maximum temperature would be a balmy 11 deg c. It does fluctuate a lot. Most of our winter weather comes off the Southern Ocean, winds coming up from the Antarctic which are really cold. I should also point out that snow can fall at any time of year here and I have witnessed snow on Christmas day, while the rest of the country was sweltering in mid 30deg c heat.

Hi, OK I have always wanted to have a BOP in my garden so the last photograph is of one that we planted just over two years ago, yesterday 5th April was my birthday (plug to late) and our BOP gave me a nice present. All photographs are flowers in bloom in the garden at this time.
