In your expert opinions (for those who have full photoshop) what was the best version or which one do you favour if you have tried more vesions and three reasons why you think a version is the best IYO's

I have cs 2 and elements 7 I end up using elements. What are you looking to do or are you just staring out?

i've been using it since version 2 (no cs2 and i even got my old mac IIcx still working with it). can't tell you which version i like best - i guess none. even though i use photoshop a lot at work (and home) i only use a limited part of all the stuff that's in the box. a web designer will use other functions, maybe. i must admit that some new functions of cs4 are really really cool and i'm looking forward to cs5 in april. for most of my photography stuff i prefer lightroom or aperture. at work we're still using cs2 (what a shame).
so, i guess there's only one rule to answer your question: there's no magic bullet - it's just a tool improving over time. any version will help you as long as you know what you're doing
